Our story
Lalu was founded in 2017 with a simple belief: health data should be easier to access, understand and use.
Our founder, Richard Freeman, recognised that healthcare providers, businesses, and individuals all faced the same challenge. Valuable health information existed, but accessing it securely, curating it accurately, and using it effectively remained complex, time-consuming and fragmented.
Working closely with Primary Care, we developed solutions that transformed the medical reporting process. By combining technology, specialist operational expertise and clinical governance, we created services that reduce administrative burden, strengthen compliance and give healthcare professionals more time to focus on patient care.
As demand grew, so did our vision. What began as a solution for healthcare providers evolved into a broader platform supporting organisations that rely on trusted health information to make important decisions. Today, businesses across insurance, legal, retail health, government, and many other sectors use Lalu to access curated medical data quickly, securely, and responsibly.
But our mission extends beyond organisations. We believe individuals should have greater visibility and control over their own health information. That’s why we created Lalu Me, empowering people to access, understand, and manage their health data with confidence.
