Healthcare is becoming increasingly connected, digital and data-driven.
Yet despite enormous advances in technology, some of healthcare’s most valuable insights remain trapped within fragmented systems, disconnected records and underutilised datasets. Primary care data in particular remains one of healthcare’s most important, and often overlooked, sources of information.
At Lalu, we believe there is an opportunity to change that.
Our mission is to connect healthcare providers, businesses and consumers for the consented flow of curated health data, helping organisations unlock better insights, improve decision-making and create better outcomes for everyone involved.
Following our recent transition from Medi2Data to Lalu, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth and evolution as a business.
To support that journey, we are proud to be strengthening our leadership team with expertise spanning digital health innovation, healthcare leadership and clinical governance.
Together, these appointments reflect not only where Lalu is today, but where we are heading next.
Amber Vodegel – Non-Executive Director
We are delighted to welcome Amber Vodegel as Non-Executive Director to the Lalu Board.
Amber is a highly respected entrepreneur, digital health leader and exited founder with an exceptional track record of building consumer health platforms at global scale.
As founder of Health & Parenting, Amber helped create Pregnancy+, the world’s leading pregnancy app, which grew to more than 150 million users worldwide and was acquired by Philips.
Following the acquisition, Amber held senior leadership roles within Philips, helping drive digital transformation and strategic growth across health technology initiatives.
Today, as Founder and CEO of 28X Ltd, Amber continues to pioneer innovation in women’s health through privacy-first technology, ethical AI and trusted digital health engagement.
Having spent much of her career operating at the intersection of healthcare, technology and consumer engagement, Amber brings valuable experience in building trusted digital health experiences that people actively choose to engage with.
Her appointment reflects Lalu’s belief that the future of healthcare will increasingly depend on empowering individuals to play an active role in how their health information is used, shared and understood.
Professor Sneh Khemka CBE – Non-Executive Director
We are also delighted to formally announce Professor Sneh Khemka CBE as Non-Executive Director.
Sneh is already a familiar part of the Lalu story. Over the past two years, his guidance, insight and encouragement have played an important role in helping shape our journey, refine our vision and support our growth as a business.
Sneh is a highly experienced healthcare executive and entrepreneur with more than 35 years’ experience building and scaling global health businesses. He is currently Chief Health Officer of Daman and he has previously held senior leadership roles at Bupa, NEOM and Aetna. Sneh also founded and served as CEO of SimplyHealth Ventures, focused on HealthTech innovation. Originally trained as a pioneering eye surgeon, bringing a unique blend of clinical, operational and commercial expertise.
His experience has been particularly valuable as Lalu has continued to explore the significant opportunities that exist within primary care data, an area of healthcare that often remains underutilised despite its enormous potential to improve understanding, insight and outcomes.
As healthcare systems continue to evolve, trusted access to health information and responsible use of data will become increasingly important to patients, providers and organisations alike.
Sneh’s strategic leadership and healthcare expertise will continue to help guide Lalu as we navigate this opportunity and continue building the infrastructure required for a more connected healthcare future.
Dr Heinrich Cyril Volmink – Senior Clinical Advisor
We are equally proud to welcome Dr Heinrich Cyril Volmink as Senior Clinical Advisor to Lalu.
Dr Volmink is an internationally respected public health medicine specialist, healthcare leader and policy advisor whose experience spans government, academia, healthcare delivery and health innovation.
As Chief Operating Officer of PAN South Africa, former South African Member of Parliament and advisor to organisations including Anglo American and Vital Strategies, Heinrich has spent his career helping shape healthcare systems, public health policy and preventive healthcare initiatives.
He also serves as Senior Lecturer Extraordinary at Stellenbosch University and continues to support a range of health and development programmes internationally.
His appointment reinforces an important principle for Lalu: that innovation in health data must always be supported by strong clinical thinking, responsible governance and a clear focus on improving outcomes for patients and healthcare systems.
As healthcare continues to become more data-driven, clinical leadership and public trust will be just as important as technological innovation.
Heinrich’s expertise will help ensure clinical excellence remains at the heart of Lalu’s growth.
Building the Leadership for Lalu’s Next Chapter
Taken individually, each of these appointments brings exceptional expertise and experience.
Together, they provide something even more valuable.
Amber brings experience in digital health innovation, consumer engagement and global platform growth.
Sneh contributes strategic healthcare leadership, governance and experience supporting organisations through growth and transformation.
Heinrich ensures public health thinking, clinical excellence and patient outcomes remain central to how we innovate and evolve.
Collectively, these perspectives strengthen Lalu’s ability to navigate both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with building trusted health data infrastructure.
With the support of Amber, Sneh and Heinrich, we are excited to continue building that future together.
