9 June, London, UK – Health data platform Medi2data has rebranded to Lalu as it expands to meet the increasing demand from healthcare businesses and consumers for access to consented, curated health data.
Founded in 2017, Lalu connects healthcare, business and individuals to consented, curated health data. It has established itself as a trusted, NHS-accredited health data partner, with business clients including BUPA, HSBC Life (now Chesnara Life) and Pertemps Medical, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. Lalu now delivers around 100,000 reports annually, with its fully managed service for GP surgeries supporting the health data needs of over 3.5 million patients.
The rebrand brings all of Lalu’s service lines together under a single platform, enhancing customer experience and improving connectivity. The rebrand also sees major developments across all of Lalu’s existing services, with improved functionality and new features paving the way for a scalable, AI-enabled connected service.
Lalu’s refreshed service offering includes Lalu Care, offering smart solutions for healthcare professionals and Lalu Hub, which enables businesses to access curated health data. Lalu has also announced plans to introduce a new consumer-facing service, Lalu Me, which will empower people to control, manage and gain meaningful insights from their personal health data.
The transition to Lalu comes against a backdrop of increasing demand for consented, curated and structured health data – not only within healthcare itself, but across industries including insurance, clinical research, government, and retail health.
Sarah Ballantyne, Account Director at Pertemps Medical, Defence Division, said: “Health data is only valuable if you can actually access and use it, but people aren’t always aware of how difficult that is – Lalu helps us solve those problems.”
Lalu’s dedicated service portals are designed to make accessing health data quicker and easier. Lalu’s platform converts fragmented health data into structured data outputs that businesses and healthcare providers can use to improve decision-making, reduce turnaround times, and enable better outcomes.
Richard Freeman, Founder and CEO of Lalu, said: “We are excited to be launching our new Lalu brand. Under the Lalu banner, we’ll continue to scale our founding vision of unlocking the power of health data by making consented and curated health data easier to access and use, enabling more informed decision-making and delivering quicker, better outcomes for healthcare providers, businesses and consumers.”
